my name is Sun Jian, SunDesign founder. Visiting Professor of Nantong University Effie Awards Greater China Judge, Member of Academic Committee of China Advertising Association, Member of Academic Committee of China Dyeing and Weaving Art Research Center, Researcher at Xiong'an Development Institute Visiting Fellow, Huaqiao University I'm used to work on the largest advertising company in Japan. Designer Interview of SUN JIAN:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

SJ : A small time is influenced by the father and grandmother. The grandmother is a teacher, inspired by painting. She began to paint from an early age and grew up to become a designer. Finally enter the art school to study.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

SJ : SunDesign was estabulished in Beijing in 2014. SunDesign Brand Design (Beijing) Ltd.brings international modern brief design to brands. Sun Design hopes that its can create more brands of unique features together with their partners by virtue of its accurate grasp of brand,the design accuracy and international viewpoint of easten and western culture.To improve its reputation in worldwide, we cooperate with the large national enterprises.We design brand image for international famous brand .The team leader of the desigh team came from the 2008 Olympics game designing team and used to work for Dentsu Group.His unique design conception and style formed during dual clash bewteen brand design and advertisement initiation .

DI: What is "design" for you?

SJ : Design is the process of conveying a prediction through reasonable planning, careful planning, and various forms of feeling.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

SJ : I like design work with certain challenges.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

SJ : I like logo design, product design and packaging design, and book binding. A good product needs a high degree of recognition to distinguish similar products. I like to do challenging things, which will be more difficult than mature brands.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

SJ : The first work is the emblem of the twelfth Sudirman Cup

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

SJ : I like some environmentally friendly materials, materials that can be applied continuously.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

SJ : I like to constantly challenge myself. I often take on projects that I have never done before. Whenever there is a new job, I will continue to break through to find new solutions and find new ideas.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

SJ : Nowadays people have very high demands on the quality of life, and they are more and more picky about aesthetics, so good design is to solve people's aesthetics.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

SJ : I treat each creation as my own child and take care of it until everyone accepts him.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

SJ : Since I was a child, I like to draw and write about what I see. I hope I can become a designer when I grow up, so I cherish everything I have now.

DI: What makes a design successful?

SJ : Perseverance and persistence are my motivation to keep moving forward.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

SJ : First consider the rationality of the design.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

SJ : Designers often have a certain mission. I want to help people who need help to do some charity. Often we do some charity.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

SJ : Future design is closely integrated with the human lifestyle, and design needs to consider more intelligence.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

SJ : Asia Pet Show 2019 2020 Spring Expo in Germany

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

SJ : Forpet is a beloved brand of dog food on sale in China and elsewhere. The inspiration of the design comes from the commitment of Forpet dog food with unconditional care for all dogs. As a caring caregiver and a leader in pet health, Forpet is designed to strike a balance between warmth and expertise, making Forpet a versatile product.Every dog is here was the choosen statement for Forpet and a series brand was designed.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

SJ : The design needs to be applied to many countries and different usage scenarios. So when we are designing, I have to keep the brand recognition and conciseness in design. Therefore, when designing works, you need to be particularly careful and attentive. In fact, quality is the most important thing for design. Because the image of the brand on different tops is also a special voice of the brand concept.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

SJ : I live in Beijing, China. When we were designing, we all went back to learn about traditional culture. Chinese design started late, and we are working hard to achieve the best design.

DI: How do you work with companies?

SJ : I usually hand over the execution and production of the completed works to the company.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

SJ : The current young design is a bit impetuous. This is a problem caused by society. We value the character of the designer more.

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

SJ : As designers, we will first try to understand the personality of the brand, and then use the most direct and simple visual elements to convey the brand's concept. At the same time, we need to maintain the visual unity and innovation of the brand so that everyone can enjoy and enjoying the moment.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

DI: Can you describe a day in your life?

SJ : I like the feeling of the sun rising in the morning.

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

SJ : Design requires hard work and diligence, to maintain an ordinary heart.

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

SJ : Designers are different from artists. Real design requires thought rather than execution and beautification. Now there are too many plagiarism and similar designs.

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

SJ : Design must be thoughtful, thoughtful and solid.

DI: What skills are most important for a designer?

SJ : Thinking, hand drawing, software, handmade.

DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?

SJ : Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Adobe InDesign.

DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

SJ : I promise to work 6 hours a day because I want to extend my career.

DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?

SJ : We are about 1 week.

DI: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?

SJ : I like to ask questions and want to understand the history and culture.

DI: What was your most important job experience?

SJ : Once worked in the emblem design team of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Japan Dentsu Advertising Company, the United States DDB Advertising Compan.

DI: Who are some of your clients?

SJ : My account includes publishing groups, big health, automotive, petroleum, fast-moving goods and other fields.

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

SJ : I like thoughtful and creative works, which can be well integrated with the public.

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

SJ : I like to make different designs and I will challenge different fields.

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

SJ : I am an independent designer, and at the same time founded the SunDesign design company.

DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?

SJ : I currently have a logo-related design work for a factory operation international award company. This client is very special. It is a company operating in the Chinese region during the New York Festival and the London International Awards.
