DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

SJ : Influenced by father and grandmother for a short time. Grandmother was a teacher and was inspired by painting. She started drawing at an early age and grew up to be a designer. Finally entered art school.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

SJ : SunDesign was established in Beijing in 2014. Sun Desig brings international modern minimalist design to the brand. Sun Design hopes to create more brands with unique characteristics with its partners by virtue of its accurate grasp of the brand, design precision and international vision of Eastern and Western cultures.

DI: What is "design" for you?

SJ : Design is the process of communicating predictions through sound planning, careful planning and various forms of feeling.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

SJ : I like design work that has certain challenges.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

SJ : I love logo design, product design and packaging design, and book binding. A good product requires a high degree of approval to distinguish similar products. I like to do challenging things, which are harder than established brands.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

SJ : The first piece is the logo of the 12th Sudirman Cup

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

SJ : I like some eco-friendly materials, materials that can be used continuously.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

SJ : I like to keep challenging myself. I often take on projects that have never been done before. Whenever there is a new job, I keep breaking through, looking for new solutions, looking for new ideas.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

SJ : Nowadays, people have very high requirements for the quality of life, and they are becoming more and more picky about aesthetics, so good design is to solve people's aesthetic problems.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

SJ : I treat each piece as my own child and take care of it until everyone accepts it.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

SJ : Ever since I was a child, I have loved to draw and write down what I see. I want to be a designer when I grow up, so I cherish what I have now.

DI: What makes a design successful?

SJ : Perseverance is what keeps me going.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

SJ : First consider the rationality of the design.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

SJ : Designers often have a certain mission. I want to help those in need with some charity work. We often do some charitable activities.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

SJ : The design of the future is closely integrated with the way of life of human beings, and the design needs to consider more intelligence.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

SJ : The 2021 China-Korea Cultural Exchange Year has entered the Gaohe County Art Exhibition, which will be held at Gahe County Government and Chosun University Art Museum in South Korea

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

SJ : Less is more minimalism meets Chinese purism. The striking combination of Chinese characters and the lotus flower design acts as a connecting element, giving the collection a special expressiveness. Another feature is the raised thread that runs through the cup body. Together, these two design attributes give white a new, surprisingly powerful aesthetic. Lotus petal-shaped coffee copper spoon, full of elegant temperament, the coffee base adopts the lotus pattern to illustrate the beauty of lotus flowers from different angles. The coffee cup not only enables users to drink delicious coffee, but also taste it with a good habit, making them Together for a perfect drinking experience.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

SJ : The design needs to be applied to many countries and different usage scenarios. So when we design, I have to maintain brand recognition and simplicity in the design. Therefore, you need to be extra careful and attentive when designing your work. In fact, quality is the most important thing in design. Because the brand image of different tops is also the special voice of the brand concept.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

SJ : I live in Beijing, China. When we were designing, we all went back and learned about traditional culture. Chinese design started late and we are working hard to achieve the best design.

DI: How do you work with companies?

SJ : I usually leave the execution and production of the finished work to the company.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

SJ : The current young design is a bit impetuous. This is a problem created by society. We pay more attention to the character of the designer.

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

SJ : As designers, we first try to understand the brand's personality, and then use the most direct and simple visual elements to convey the brand's philosophy. At the same time, we need to maintain the visual unity and innovation of the brand so that everyone can enjoy and enjoy the moment.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
